We are a coalition implementing local material recovery systems that promote resilient communities.
Humans are exceeding the limits of our planet.
Our current economic system is designed to create pollution and waste: we extract, manufacture, and toss away products, with only 7.2 percent of materials cycled back into supply chains. That means we rely almost exclusively on new natural resources, and the Earth is running out. This ‘take-make-waste’ economy disposes of consumer products and materials produced in a global supply chain by depositing them as harmful waste in vulnerable communities.
The Circular Supply Chain Coalition (CSCC) exists to reverse material extraction by creating equitable, local material recovery systems linked to global supply chains.
The CSCC stands at the forefront of change in a world challenged by a variety of barriers to sustainability and economic inclusion. As a result of our work, communities can harness the many benefits of circular economies, driving prosperity for all.
How We Work
-
We collaborate with local businesses, analyze market feasibility, and tailor strategies to create circular supply chains that benefit the community.
-
We establish partnerships with global companies, identify key materials, develop procurement agreements, and connect local enterprises with global supply chains.
-
We enhance the sustainability of local value chains through mapping, accelerator programs, business development services, and funding for new enterprises.
-
We coordinate the entire value chain, uniting networks of social enterprises, orchestrating cooperative partnerships, and engaging with the logistics industry to establish efficient circular systems.
